Refrigerator - Egg Storage Bin

In the past we have offered egg storage bins or trays with many refrigerator models. The egg storage bin helped keep eggs fresh and safe. It was also convenient when refilling or cooking at your counter. These bins could be placed on a refrigerator shelf, on a door shelf or even in the freezer.

Understanding the Use of an Egg Storage Bin or Bucket

  • The "egg bin or bucket" was typically a 14½" x 4¼" rectangular bin. It would hold two dozen eggs, but it had twelve individual cups at the bottom to hold eggs. The second dozen could be placed directly on the first. The egg storage bin is no longer included with our refrigerators. At one time it was available as an accessory, GE Appliances part number WR32X1435. However, this item is no longer available. Most consumers leave the eggs in the egg carton. It is possible that you may find an egg storage bin available as an aftermarket accessory on the web.

The American Egg Board recommends that you store eggs with the large end up. Do not freeze eggs, as they may dry out.
