Upright & Chest Freezer - Proper Care of the Exterior

The steel exterior of an upright or chest freezer is coated with a high quality baked-on finish. Proper care of the finish will prevent rust spots from forming on the outside of the cabinet.

If the exterior should become soiled, use a clean cloth dampened with an appliance polish or a mild household detergent to clean the exterior. Use a clean, soft cloth to dry and polish the cleaned surface. It is not recommended to use a soiled dishwashing cloth or a wet towel for cleaning.

To keep the freezer looking new and to provide protection for the exterior paint finish, apply a coat of appliance polish wax when the freezer is new. Reapply it again at least twice a year.
