Microwave - How to Combination Cook a Turkey in a Convection Microwave
It is possible to use combination cooking to roast a turkey in a convection microwave oven. Obviously, the turkey size will be limited to the capacity of the microwave oven cavity. Also, these methods often use a temperature probe when cooking the turkey. Only select convection microwave models have a temperature probe feature.
The instructions provided below are applicable to many models. Please consult the Owner's Manual for your specific model for convection combination cooking recommendations and procedures.
Roasting a Turkey in a Convection Microwave Using Combination Cooking
We strongly recommend the use of a cooking bag because this helps to obtain even temperatures throughout the bird. Allow 15 minutes of standing time after any of these combo roasting methods.
There are three ways to combo roast a turkey. These methods are provided below.
Combination Auto Roast
Quickest / easiest to set up.
- Insert the temperature probe.
- Touch the "auto roast " pad.
- Touch auto code 4 (to obtain final food temp of 190 degrees).
- Press "start".
Combination Temperature Cook
Same as the Combo Auto Roast but requires the following steps to be set up.
- Insert the temperature probe.
- Touch the "combo cook" pad.
- Enter combo code 4 (which is for 350 degrees).
- Enter the desired final food temp (190 degrees).
- Press "start".
Combination Time Cook
You need to calculate the time by pounds.
- Calculate the cooking time (17 to 20 minutes per pound combo time).
- Touch the "combo cook" pad.
- Enter combo code 4 (for 350 degrees).
- Enter the cooking time.
- Press "start".
