Melting Wax or Paraffin In a Microwave

Melting wax or paraffin in a microwave oven for the purpose of candle-making or home food preservation is not recommended.

Microwave ovens work best on high moisture content foods. Because wax or paraffin is low in moisture, candle-making and wax melting can be done faster, safer and more efficiently using conventional heat sources.
