Microwave Toasting or Blanching Nuts
The following can be used as a general guideline for toasting nuts:

| Almonds | ½ cup | 5-7 minutes |
| Cashews | 1 cup | 10-12 minutes |
| Filberts | 1 cup | 8-10 minutes |
| Peanuts | 1 cup | 5-7 minutes |
| Pecans | 1 cup | 3-4 minutes |
| Pine Nuts | ½ cup | 5-7 minutes |
| Walnuts | 1 cup | 3-4 minutes |
Note: 2 tablespoons butter and a little salt may be added. Cook another 1/2 - 1 minute on HIGH and allow to stand 5 minutes. To reheat, cook on HIGH 1/2 - 1 minute.
For blanching nuts:
- Use 1 cup of water for 1/2 to 3/4 cup nutmeats.
- In a 4 cup measure, boil the water for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes.
- Add the nuts.
- Microwave high for 30 seconds.
- Drain and rub the nuts between 2 pieces of paper towel to slip the skins off.
