Microwave - Using the Express Cook Feature

Countertop, Over-the-Range, Built-In, and Drawer microwaves offer a quick "shortcut" for starting the microwave called "Express Cook". This will allow you to start microwave cooking instantly without needing to press Start.

Using the Express Cook Feature on a Microwave

Simply touch a number pad from 1 to 6 and the microwave will start running for that amount of minutes. For example, to cook for 2 minutes, press 2 on the control panel and the microwaves will start immediately and cook for 2 minutes.

• • The Power Level will always be on High (Power Level 10) unless you change the power level once it has started. The power level can be changed while it is running by pressing Power and the power level such as power Level 3 = 30%, or 5 = 50%.
  • If you are cleaning the microwave control panel and want to make sure the microwave doesn't start automatically, you can either open the door, unplug the microwave, or set the Child Lock before wiping off the control panel.

Using Add 30 Seconds

The Add 30 Seconds pad is most often used to add extra cooking time to a Time Cook countdown. It can also be used as a way to start your microwave instantly. Each touch adds 30 seconds and the oven will start immediately when pressed. For example, if you wanted to cook for 30, press the Add 30 Seconds pad once and it will start cooking for 30 seconds. Press it 3 times in a row to cook for 90 seconds.
