Air Conditioner - Fresh Air Vent Operation
Select older model room air conditioners had outside vents that could be used when it is cool outdoors. During these times, the vent could have been opened, allowing the air conditioner to pull in fresh air rather than air conditioning the room.
Understanding the Fresh Air Vent Operation on a Room Air Conditioner
- Some room air conditioners had buttons marked for this operation. AIR IN buttons opened the vents and AIR OUT buttons closed the vents.
- Some had a small lever by the grille that said Open/Close.
- This feature could not be used to remove odor, smoke, etcetera from inside the room to the outside.
- Current models no longer offer this feature.
