Range Cleaning Instructions for the Broiler Pan and Rack
The Broiler pan and rack provides virtually grease free cooking. It holds approximately 48 ounces of liquid.
The following are the approved cleaners for broiler pans and racks:
- Liquid dishwashing detergent and water
- Soap-filled scouring pads
- Plastic souring pads
- Dishwasher
- Self-Clean Cycle (for porcelain enamel parts only)
Follow these cleaning steps:
- Drain the fat and allow the pan/rack to cool slightly. Do not let the soiled pan and rack stand in the oven to cool.
- Sprinkle with detergent.
- Fill the pan with warm water.
- Spread a cloth or paper towel over the rack.
- Let the rack stand for a few minutes.
- Wash, scouring if necessary.
- Rinse and dry the pan and rack.
Note: It is not recommended to clean the broiler pan/rack in the self-cleaning oven unless they are porcelain enamel. The metal pans and racks may warp and there is the possibility of residual grease in the pan igniting under the high temperatures required for the self-clean cycle.
