Dishwasher - Top Spray Arm Hitting Upper Rack
Many dishwashers feature a spray arm at the top of the tub. The spray arm is mounted to the "ceiling" of the tub. Should you have a new dishwasher and the spray arm is hitting against the upper rack, you can try the following suggestion prior to scheduling service.
Diagnosing a Top Spray Arm Hitting the Upper Rack in a Dishwasher
If the upper spray arm is hitting the upper rack, one thing to check is whether the top of the tub was accidentally compressed during installation. This could cause the top spray arm to rest against the top rack and prevent the rack from coming out all the way.
To return the top of the dishwasher to the proper position, usually you can reach up and push the top of the tub back up into place. Pull the rack out as far as possible first, then try this.
