Electric Range & Wall Oven - Oven Has Power But Does Not Work

If you have power to the range or wall oven but the oven does not come on, there are a few tips to consider that may resolve the concern.

Diagnosing an Oven That Has Power But Does Not Work

To verify that the oven has power, open the door and see if the light comes on. If the light comes on, proceed to check the following items.

  • Verify that the clock has been set. On some models, the oven functions will not work until the clock has been set.
  • Verify that the Child Lockout is not on. On some models, press the CLEAR/OFF pad for 3 seconds to unlock the control. You may want to consult the Owner's Manual for your specific model to check for the Child Lockout feature and how to use it.
  • Verify that the display is not turned off. Press the OPTIONS menu and follow the directions for turning the display on for models wit this feature.
