Refrigerator - Door Stop / Door Swing
The doors on a Refrigerator are designed to stop at a certain point when they are opened. This prevents the door from flopping wide open and hitting the wall, cabinet or whatever is located beside it. This has been a part of standard Refrigerator design for many decades.
Understanding the Function of the Refrigerator Door Stop / Door Swing
Refrigerator door stops help prevent damage to adjacent walls, cabinets, and the Refrigerator door. They allow the door to open wide enough for normal pan removal. They are included on all models and are located in the hinge system at the bottom of the door.
- Door stops are set to 150 degrees (GE Cafe™ Series and Cafe models are slightly less than 150 degrees) and cannot be adjusted.
