Range & Wall Oven - Drying or Dehydrating Food in the Oven

Dehydrating or drying fruits, vegetables or meat in the oven is not recommended unless the oven has a Dehydration feature. Dehydrating is a process of using low heat for a longer period of time to remove the moisture content in the foods. Most GE Appliances ovens are not designed for this purpose.

Dehydrating Food in an Oven

In the past, some Profile and Monogram wall ovens had a Dehydrate feature. If it had this feature, it will be listed in the Owner's Manual for the specific model.

If the oven does not have this feature, it is best to use specific appliances designed for dehydrating. We do not manufacture a dehydrator. We would recommend checking with department stores, catalog showrooms, or online for this type of appliance made by another manufacturer.
