Range & Wall Oven - Removing Oven Rack
The oven racks are designed with stop-locks so that when they are placed correctly on the shelf (rack) support, they will stop before coming completely out of the oven and will not tilt when removing food or when placing food on them.
Removing Oven Racks From the Oven on a Range or Wall Oven
To Remove Racks From the Oven
- Allow the rack(s) to cool.
- Lift up the rear of the rack.
- Pull forward with stop-locks along the top of the rack supports.
To Replace Racks In the Oven
Insert the rack with the stop-locks resting on the rack supports.
Push the rack toward the rear of the oven. It will fall into place.
When the rack is in the proper position, stop-locks on the shelf will run under the rack support when the rack is pulled forward.
Racks Difficult to Slide
Racks may become difficult to slide, especially after a self-clean. If they don't move in and out easily, try the following:
Put a small amount of vegetable oil on a soft cloth or paper towel and rub onto the left and right edges of the racks.
DO NOT use other cooking oils such as olive oil, coconut oil, or peanut oil as they will cause a brown discoloring or a rust like color residue on the racks and oven cavity sides.
To clean this residue, use a soap and water or a vinegar and water solution. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
