Care and Cleaning of Removable Range and Cooktop Knobs

Most ranges and cooktops have removable control knobs, making them easy to clean and maintain.

Tips to Keep Your Knobs Looking Like New

  • Avoid using excessively large pots and pans, especially near your knobs.
  • Don’t place hot pans on or too close to the knobs.
  • After cleaning your cooktop, make sure the burner caps are placed back in the correct position.

How to Clean Your Knobs

  1. Pull the removable knobs straight off and wash them gently with mild soap and water . Do not soak them.
  2. Wash them with mild soap and water. Do not soak them.
  3. Dry the knobs completely.
  4. Place them back on the range, making sure the flat side inside the knob lines up with the shaft.
Note:  Some models have cardboard pieces behind the knobs. These act as splash guards and should not be removed.
