Many vent hoods offer an auto heat sensor that automatically turns the blower on if excess heat builds up around the hood.

When doing a lot of cooking and the hood has not been turned on, the hood will come on automatically if the temperatures become unsafe.

Models with this feature include glass slide-out hoods (no longer manufactured), GE Café Series hoods, and our GE & GE Profile models starting with UVW.
