Range Cleaning Hi/Lo Grease Filters

The frequency of cleaning the grease filters in hi/lo ranges is dependent on what type of cooking is done. With normal use, the filters should be cleaned once a month.

To clean the filters, agitate them in a hot detergent solution. Light brushing may be used to help remove imbedded soil and dust. With careful use and handling, the filter will last for years. Dishwasher cleaning is acceptable, but may not get the filter as clean as hand washing.

On internal exhaust models, with charcoal filters, there is no way to clean the filters. When odors are detected in the kitchen through the exhaust it is time to change the charcoal filter. Purchase a GE Appliance part or accessory online.
