Range - 12 Hr Automatic Oven Shut-Off on Older Models

The oven on many wall ovens and ranges with touch pad clock controls will automatically shut off after 12 hours. The benefit of this is the peace of mind and energy savings if the oven is accidentally left on. Models with no clock or timer do not have the automatic shutdown feature.

Understanding the 12 Hour Automatic Oven Shut-Off Feature

When the feature was first introduced, some models had the automatic oven shut-off and others did not. An "override" feature was also introduced later. This allows the 12 hour shut-off to be deactivated so that the oven can be used for longer than 12 hours at a time.
