Range & Wall Oven - Oven Temperature Control Knob Calibration
If your gas or electric oven temperature does not match your expectations, you can calibrate (adjust) your oven temperature. The steps for oven calibration depend on the type of oven controls. This article provides the steps for calibrating the oven temperature on a range or wall oven with a mechanical oven temperature knob.
Calibrating the Oven Temperature on an Oven Temperature Control Knob
Pull the OVEN TEMP knob off the shaft, look at the back of the knob and note the current setting before making any adjustments.
Loosen both screws on the back of the knob. Each notch changes the temperature by 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
To increase the oven temperature, move the pointer 1 notch toward the words "Make Hotter."
To decrease the oven temperature, turn the pointer 1 notch toward the words "Make Cooler." Tighten the screws. Replace the knob, matching the flat area of the knob to the shaft.
