Upright & Chest Freezer - Steps to Disable Light

There are some upright and chest freezer models that have a light in the freezer. Should you have a model with a light and need to disable the use of the light, you can do the following to accomplish this.

Disabling the Interior Light Inside an Upright or Chest Freezer

• For models that have a plunger or rocker switch, simply depress this switch and the light should go out. The switch is located around the perimeter of the door.

• For models that have a reed or magnetic switch, run a refrigerator magnet or a screwdriver across the top of the casing, below the gasket. The light should go out.
