Refrigerator - Sputtering Water Dispenser
If the water dispenser on your Refrigerator sputters or splatters while dispensing water, there may be air in the water line. A newly installed water filter cartridge may cause water to spurt from the dispenser. This is caused by air being trapped in the water system during filter installation.
Reducing the Sputtering or Splattering of Water from the Dispenser on a Refrigerator
- Fill the replacement water filter with tap water prior to installing.
- Dispensing one gallon of water after replacing a water filter should stop the sputtering. Continue dispensing water until the sputtering is eliminated.
- You should not have continuous sputtering from the dispenser every time it is used.
