Range & Wall Oven - TrueTemp System

The TrueTemp™ system with advanced technology provides exceptional cooking performance and consistently even oven temperatures. The TrueTemp™ system includes an electronic oven control and a platinum tipped oven sensor for even heat distribution and maximum oven control. The TrueTemp™ system was featured on many Ranges and Wall Ovens for many years. This system is no longer featured on our newer models.

 

Understanding the TrueTemp™ System on Ranges and Wall Ovens

The TrueTemp™ system was designed with a SmartLogic™ electronic oven control using a platinum tipped sensor that monitors and maintains the oven temperature. It senses sudden, significant heat loss and responds with extra power. The control will click on and off as it cycles every 2 to 3 minutes, which is normal.

 

The TrueTemp™ System Was Offered on the Following Models

  • Electric Free-Standing Ranges with QS-III, QS-IV and QS-V, July of 1997 and newer, oven controls. *QS is QuickSet oven controls.

  • Gas Free-Standing Ranges with QS-III, QS-IV and QS-V, May of 1998 and newer, oven controls. *QS is QuickSet oven controls.

  • Built-In Wall Ovens, 27" and 30", October of 1998 and newer models.

Features of the TrueTemp™ System on Electric Ranges Only

  • A Faster Preheat - Accelerates preheat and recovery time.

    • The Preheat time for TrueTemp™ varies, non-hidden bake element models will preheat faster than hidden bake element models.

  • New "Digipad" (QS-V control only) - Provides digital precision with easy-to-set controls. Simple, convenient cooking is quickly initiated.

  • New "Time and Temperature" (QS-IV control only) - For viewing convenience, the time and temperature are displayed simultaneously.

  • New "Digital Temperature Display" (QS-II and QS-III controls only) - Combines the accuracy of a digital temperature readout with the convenience of a QuickSet knob. "Temp Recall" will be written under the minus (-) minute pad. Press this to see the selected oven temperature.

  • New "Start" pad/prompt (QS-IV and QS-V controls only).

  • New "SF" or "Special Functions" pad (QS-V control only).
