Test for Proper Oven Broil Operation

To test if your broiler is working properly:

1. Cover the entire broiler pan rack with bread.
2. Place the broiler pan on the third shelf from the bottom and broil until the bread is golden brown.
3. If the bread does not brown relatively evenly on both sides of the pan, the broiler may not working properly.

If food does not broil properly check the following:

• Make sure the controls are set properly by touching the BROIL Hi/LO pad
• Make sure the rack is in the proper position. See the Broiling Guide in the Owner's Manual. 
• Make sure the pan used is designed for broiling
• Do not use a probe for broiling (found on some models)
• Some areas have low power (voltage), preheat the broil element for 10 minutes and broil for the longest time recommended
