Washer - Using An Extension Cord

Because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions, we strongly recommend against the use of an extension cord with a Washer.

 

Using an Extension Cord with a Washer

If you still elect to use an extension cord, it is necessary that you observe the following:

 
  1. The extension cord needs to be a U.L. (Underwriter's Laboratory) listed three-wire grounding appliance cord.
  2. The current carrying rating of the cord must be equivalent to or greater than the branch circuit rating.

This type of extension cord can be purchased through hardware, home improvement and electrical supply stores.

 

Note: The use of an extension cord may cause premature part failure. The warranty on the Washer may not cover this type of failure.
