Refrigerator Manual Defrost Excessive Frost

If frost is permitted to become thicker than 1/2-inch, or the refrigerator allowed to operate longer than six months without defrosting the freezer compartment, excessive frost will form on the hidden side of freezer compartment surfaces and it will be necessary to defrost the freezer compartment for a minimum of 24 hours.

Excessive frost can cause moisture to condense on the exterior surfaces of the refrigerator cabinet around the freezer compartment.
