Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - Clogged Drain Tube, Ice on Freezer Floor
Bottom Freezer Refrigerators with an automatic defrost system have a drain tube that carries water from the defrost cycle to a fixed drain pan under the Refrigerator. There is no routine maintenance required for the defrost drain tube or pan.
Diagnosing a Clogged Drain Tube on a Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
If you have a clogged drain tube, you might see ice and/or water inside on the Freezer floor or on the floor in front of the Freezer. You may also see water under the full width drawer in the Fresh Food section. Bottom Freezer Refrigerators require some disassembly to access the defrost drain tube, so we recommend that you contact service.
