Understanding the Benefit of the Dual-Flame Stacked Burner

Two burners are stacked one above the other. For low temperature cooking (Precise Simmer) the ring of flame is very small and is near the base of the burner. When a higher temperature is needed, the upper ring of fire ignites producing not 1 but 2 rings of fire (Power Boil).

The Power Boil burner has 18,000 BTUs for accelerated boiling and Precise Simmer provides gentle 140 degree simmering.
