Softening Brown Sugar in Microwave

To soften brown sugar after it has hardened:

1. Measure and place brown sugar in a microwave-safe dish.
2. Cover with a damp (not wet) paper towel.
3. Heat for 30 seconds If not yet softened, continue to heat for 10 second intervals, checking the softness as you go to avoid melting the sugar.
4. Fluff with a fork.
