Refrigerator - Icemaker Vacation Setting

If the icemaker on your Refrigerator will not be used for some time, such as during a vacation or when the appliance is placed in storage, we recommend that you shut off the water supply to the Refrigerator and turn off the icemaker. Any time you turn off the water supply to the Refrigerator, make sure you also turn off the icemaker to prevent any damage.

Shutting Off an Icemaker on a Refrigerator for a Vacation or Storage

• Feeler Arm Icemakers have an on/off switch is built into the wire feeler arm. Raise the arm up to turn off the icemaker.
• Electronic Icemakers have an on/off toggle switch or a slide switch on the front or side of the icemaker.
• Some Bottom Freezer Refrigerators have an icemaker on/off pad on the dispenser control panel instead of an accessible switch on the icemaker.
