Refrigerator – Not Filtering or Unfiltered Water Message
On bottom-mount refrigerators that use the RPWFE water filter, the unit uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to detect leaks and monitor the filter status.You will see "Not Filtering" or Unfiltered Water" on the display when the water filter bypass plug is being used. The icemaker and dispenser will work, but the water is being unfiltered.
Non-touch screen control panel: "Not Filtering" message appears under a red triangle icon to indicate the bypass plug is in place.
LCD touch-screen control panel: The Water screen will say "Unfiltered Water."
