GE Profile™ GEOSPRING™ Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater - Filter Light Operation

When using the Heat Pump, Hybrid, and High Demand modes, the GE Profile™ GEOSPRING™ will pull air through the three air filters located towards the front and top of the unit and exhaust cool air out of the back of the appliance. These filters protect the evaporator from dirt and dust. Occasionally, these filters need to be cleaned to maintain the highest efficiency.

Dirty Filter Indicator

When the filters require cleaning, the red light above the Filter pad will illuminate and an alarm will sound. You will also get a push notification on your smartphone if the water heater is connected to SmartHQ™. If the filters become too dirty, the water heater will automatically switch to Standard Electric mode and energy savings will be lost.

Directions for your model are found in the Owner's Manual. After cleaning the air filters, press and hold the Filter pad to reset the alarm. The water heater will automatically go back to the previously selected operating mode. If a heating cycle is active when the filter alarm is reset, it will continue in Standard Electric mode to finish the cycle, then automatically go back to the previously selected mode.
