Microwave - Cardboard on Side of Cavity Wall
The piece of cardboard seen on the interior side wall of a Microwave Oven is not packing or shipping material. It is a part of the Microwave.
Understanding the Cardboard Piece on the Inside of a Microwave Oven
The cardboard cover on the right top or side wall of the Microwave interior is there by design. The cardboard, often called Mica board, covers the waveguide system that feeds microwave energy into the cavity and should not be removed. The Microwave should not be used for any function if this cardboard cover is not in place. If removed, it would require service to replace.
Cleaning the Cardboard Piece
- Follow the instructions in the Owner's Manual for your specific model for cleaning the interior of the Oven. The same instructions apply to the cardboard cover.
