Water Tastes Different from a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System

It is normal to experience a different taste / odor than what you are used to after installing a Premium Filtration (Reverse Osmosis) system. It may take you some time to adjust to it. This different taste is due to the lack of impurities that the Premium Filtration (Reverse Osmosis) system provides.Recommendations
  • The Premium Filtration (Reverse Osmosis) membrane comes with a food grade preservative that must be flushed off. It is possible that the preservatives in the membrane may not have been removed. Allow the unit to fill for four hours. Turn on the faucet and drain the tank. Repeat this process three times.
  • You can check to see if the unit is working properly by making sure that the green monitor light is working and that the unit is sanitized.
  • If the unit is newly installed, it must be sanitized. If the water has not been used in four days or more it may acquire a taste. Open the faucet and completely drain the tank. Allow the tank to refill.
