Water Softener - Connected to Hot Water
You should never locate a water softener where freezing temperatures occur. Also, never attempt to treat water that is over 120º Fahrenheit. Freezing temperatures or hot water damage voids the warranty on a water softener.
Connecting a Water Softener to a Hot Water Supply
Do not run hot water through a water softener. Install a water softener between the water inlet and your hot water heater.
Note: Incoming water temperatures on a water softener must always be less than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
