Types of Cysts in Water

CryptosporidiumIt is a type of cyst. Cryptosporidium is a small infectious microbe that may be found in drinking water. It has a hard outer shell that is resistant to chlorine, a commonly used disinfectant at water treatment facilities. It can cause flu-like symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting and low-grade fever.

 

GiardiaIt is another type of cyst that will also make you ill exhibiting the same symptoms as cryptosporidium.
