Refrigerator Fruit and Vegetable Bins

Fruit Pan (Low-Humidity):

  • Many fruits and some vegetables do not require much moisture for short term preservation. This drawer is not gasket sealed, which helps provide a good circulation of air to keep low-humidity foods fresh longer.
  • This non-sealed pan can also be used for vegetables when  the refrigerator does not feature a sealed pan. Keep vegetables wrapped when placing them in the non-sealed pan.
  • This drawer may also be called a Cool 'n Fresh or Low-Humidity drawer.

Best for foods like: apples, oranges, apricots, peaches, raspberries, tangerines, nectarines, grapes, pears, strawberries, summer squash, and mushrooms

Vegetable pan (High-Humidity):

  • This drawer is sealed by gaskets to maintain a higher humidity. Many vegetables, especially leafy green vegetables, need a high humidity storage for items such as leafy green vegetables.  This kind of environment helps them to stay fresher longer.
  • Some vegetables are very moist and hold a lot of water, so it is sometimes good to leave the drawer slightly open if storing extremely damp produce to prevent wilting.
  • This drawer may also be called a Cool 'n Fresh or High-Humidity drawer.

Best for foods like: artichokes, celery, parsley, asparagus, peas, green onions and leeks, beets, corn, radishes, broccoli, leafy greens, rhubarb, brussel sprouts, spinach, tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, parsnips, turnips, cauliflower, cherries, blueberries, and currants.                                                                                 Vegetable/Fruit pan:  (Adjustable Humidity):

  • This drawer allows the flexibility of converting this bin to either a high humidity (sealed for vegetables) or low humidity (unsealed for fruits).
  • For high humidity, slide the lever to the far left to seal the pan. For low humidity, slide the lever to the far right.
