Softened Water Tastes Salty

Soft water will taste differently than your previous water supply. However, it should not have a distinct salty taste.

• It is possible that you have a kink in the drain hose that is not allowing the unit to regenerate properly. Locate the drain hose (usually green) at the bottom rear of the control housing. Check the entire length for the kinks and crimps. Press the touch/hold pad until recharge now flashes in display in order to initiate a regeneration cycle. 
• If it continues to have a distinct salty taste after a complete regeneration cycle, we recommend service.
