Upright & Chest Freezer - Adding a Door or Lid Lock

Some chest and upright freezers have a lock which usually has a self-ejecting key. This is specifically designed and installed onto the appliance when it is assembled.

Adding a Door or Lid Lock to a Freezer

Do not drill holes in your upright or chest freezer to attach a clasp or lock. The freezer has sealed system tubing running completely around it and drilling any holes could possibly cause a puncture to one of those lines. A puncture of the sealed system tubing is non-repairable.
