Gas Range & Cooktop - Deep Recessed Cooktop
There are many gas ranges and cooktops that feature a deep recessed cooktop surface. The deep surface is very common with current models.
Understanding the Benefit of a Deep Recessed Gas Cooktop Surface
The sealed gas burners are recessed below the edge of the cooktop. This allows the grates to have a low profile and sleek design. The deep recessed cooktop is a porcelain-enamel or stainless steel material and is found on select model free-standing gas ranges and gas cooktops. Due to the deep design, drip pans cannot be used with these models. The recessed area is able to catch and retain spillovers or messes that occur while cooking, so drip pans are not needed.
