Dishwasher - Calrod Wattage Ratings

Calrod® heating elements have been standard on GE Appliances dishwashers since 1951. The element is made of a nickel, chrome and stainless steel alloy. The Calrod heating element will not glow during operation.

 

Determining the Calrod Wattage Ratings on a Dishwasher

For current dishwasher models, the Calrod wattage ratings are listed with the Specs in the Power / Ratings section for the specific model as provided on the GE Appliances website.

 

Below are some of the different wattages that have been offered on GE Appliance dishwashers over the decades.

 

4-Pass Wash and Dry Element

This element achieves greater heating coverage of the water and ensures great dry performance. It also opens a path for an ergonomic benefit when it comes to accessing the removable filter. This 4- Pass Calrod heater provides the ability to heat 95-degree inlet water and provide up to 160-degree water in the Anti-Bacteria cycle.

 
  • 800 watts during the wash cycle
  • 415 watts during the dry cycle

Multi-Wattage

This larger element has a higher wattage for a faster and hotter wash, then provides a lower wattage in the dry cycle for fast but gentle drying. This multi-wattage Calrod heater provides the ability to heat 95-degree inlet water and provide up to 160-degree water in the Anti-Bacteria cycle.

  • 665 watts during the dry cycle
