Side Mounted Dishwasher Door Springs
All of our dishwashers manufactured since March 3rd, 1997 have a side mounted door spring assembly instead of a front mounted door spring assembly.
Advantages of side-mounted springs:
- Durable and reliable design. Life tested for over 20 years at 14 openings per day or over 100,000 full open and close cycles.
- Smooth operation. Spring tension has been engineered to allow for smoother and quieter door operation than the front mounted design.
- Four fully adjustable positions. Springs can be manually adjusted while the dishwasher is being installed to handle weight of an accessory/wood panels. There is no need to remove, adjust, or reinstall several times to get it right.
- Accessibility to motor and pump assembly. Installers, service technicians and you gain easy accessibility to the underside of the dishwasher without any hindrances.
Dishwashers with Custom Panels:If the dishwasher is manufactured with door springs mounted on the sides, it may be necessary to adjust the springs to achieve optimum door balance when a custom panel of four lbs or less is installed. If the custom panel weighs more than four lbs., a different spring kit is necessary.
The Dishwasher GPF100 Heavy Duty Spring Kit is necessary for 1997 and newer models. A GPF100 will also fit older model dishwashers, however older trim kits will not fit 1997 and newer dishwashers. Instructions are packed with each kit explaining adjustment procedure.Caution: It is recommended that gloves be worn to protect against sharp edges.
