Non-Filtered Water Appears Cloudy
If the water that comes directly from your faucet looks milky or cloudy, it is possible that there may be trapped air in your house plumbing lines.
You can test that by filling a glass with water and see if it clears from the bottom up. If so, that indicates there is air in the lines, which causes the water to appear milky. This cloudiness will clear in a few days. You can purge the air from the lines by turning on the faucets farthest from the softener for 15 minutes. You can also do the following:
- Run through an extra regeneration (recharge)
- Check with the local Water Company to see if they have had a problem with air in the lines.
- Leaky faucets in the home can cause air in the lines. Call a plumber to check.
