Refrigerator - Explanation Of Icemaker Thermostat

Most refrigerators have an icemaker as a feature of the appliance. The icemaker automatically produces ice cubes and has a built in thermostat as a part of the icemaker design.

Explanation Of Icemaker Thermostat Operation

Our icemakers have a thermostat located in the first slot of the icemaker mold or next to the first mold where the cubes are formed. The thermostat senses the temperature of the mold. Once it senses the icemaker has reached a cold enough temperature of approximately 15 degrees Fahrenheit the thermostat closes. The icemaker then ejects the cubes currently in the mold and fills with water again.
