Compactor - Ram Stuck in Down Position

If the ram in your trash compactor is stuck in the down position, the compactor is useless. We suggest considering the tips provided below prior to scheduling a repair for the appliance.

If the ram is stuck in the down position and will not go up again, do the following.

• Lift up on the foot pedal and then release it to allow the ram to complete a cycle.
• Confirm there is power going to the compactor by making sure the cord is plugged in securely and that the house circuit breaker has not tripped.
