Refrigerator ClimateKeeper Dual Evaporator and ClimateKeeper2 Systems
ClimateKeeper with Dual Evaporator System and ClimateKeeper2 helps food stay fresher longer by using one evaporator in the freezer and another in the fresh food compartment. Conventional refrigeration uses only one evaporator that cools the freezer, venting cold, dry air into the fresh food compartment.
How it Works:
- Two evaporators allow the freezer and fresh food compartments to be cooled independently. It is a parallel system which can operate each evaporator independently, or both at the same time as needed. This flexibility allows very precise cooling.
- The fresh food evaporator generates 37 F air for fresh food. The 37 F fresh food air holds 2-3X the humidity, increasing the time refrigerated foods maintain their freshness and moisture.
- The freezer evaporator generates colder, dryer 0 F air for frozen food
- Air is never mixed between compartments
- The freezer evaporator is on the back wall of the freezer compartment, just above the second to last freezer basket.
- The evaporator in the fresh food area is on the back of the fresh food wall behind the crispers.
Benefit:
- With humidity levels at 70%, (46% on Climate Keeper with Dual Evaporators) the result on food quality is outstanding. Climate Keeper2 cuts moisture loss by half that of conventional systems. This higher humidity allows food to last twice as long as they would in a single evaporator system.
- Food odors or taste will not transfer from the fresh food into the freezer...ever. Because the air from the fresh food and freezer never mingle or mix, there’s no chance for your ice cubes to taste like garlic, or for your that left over tapioca to taste like that beautiful fresh fish you froze.
- Cycle run time is calculated only by the freezer evaporator allowing even more time between defrost cycles.
- Remember the moist fresh food air is not entering the freezer compartment. This results in the freezer not needing to defrost as often to rid the freezer evaporator of the accumulated moisture crystals. The result here is less defrosting and longer lasting, better tasting frozen foods.
