Refrigerator - Dispenser Control Panel Not Working

If the dispenser control panel on a NEW refrigerator does not work, here are some things to try to get it working:

  • Static electricity caused by pulling the plastic protective covering off the dispenser can cause it to temporarily "lock up". Unplug the refrigerator or turn it off at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds to reset the control.

  • If the doors were removed during installation, be sure that the door wiring harness is plugged in. This is described in the refrigerator's Installation Instructions. Download a copy of the Installation Instructions

  • Make sure the water is turned on to the refrigerator at the shut-off valve on the refrigerator water supply line in the home.

If the dispenser control panel on an existing refrigerator does not work, try the following:

  • Make sure the control panel is not locked. Most dispensers have a child lock-out feature. For model specific instructions, consult your Owner's Manual. Download a copy of the Owner's Manual
