Microwave Auto Start/Reminder Pad

The Auto Start/Reminder feature (also referred to as Delay/Start Reminder) on some over-the-range microwaves and JEM countertop models. This feature offers the function of Auto Start, which gives you program ahead convenience. Food can be put in the microwave in the morning and be ready when you come home that night.

It also offers a "reminder" function to be used like an alarm clock, without starting the oven. For example, it is 7am and you want a reminder to leave for a dentist appointment at 10am.

To Set:

  1. Touch the Auto Start/Reminder pad.
  2. Enter the time you want the oven to remind you. Be sure that your microwave oven clock shows the correct time of day. The reminder time can be set up to 12 hours later.
  3. Touch the Start pad. The reminder is now set at the time you programmed and will signal you at that time with a beeping sound until you open the door or touch the Clear/Off pad.
  4. The display will show REM until the oven door is opened or clear/off is touched.

The reminder time may be displayed by touching the Auto Start/Reminder pad. The time-of-day may be displayed by touching the Clock pad.

The Auto Start function will not operate with Auto Cook feature. This is because the auto cook sensor measures the level of moisture in the microwave. When a food product is placed in the microwave for some time and not cooking immediately, moisture accumulates and may cause the auto cook sensor to activate prematurely. This will cause your food not to be cooked properly.
