Top Load Washer - Power Rinse Neutral Drain System
GE Appliances top loading washers manufactured in 2002 and newer use a complete rinsing system called a Neutral Drain System. This system combines neutral draining, spray rinses and deep fill rinse with agitation to reduce the possibility of redepositing soil and detergent on clean clothes to achieve a thoroughly clean rinse. This may also be referred to as Power Rinse.
Understanding the Power Rinse Neutral Drain System on a Top Load Washer
The secret to Power Rinse is the neutral drain process.
Cleaning agents in detergents capture and suspend soil at the water's surface. Since the Neutral Drain process does not involve any spinning action, the clothes stay mainly at the bottom of the tub while dirty water drains out the holes in the side of the tub and away from the clothes.
Power Rinse is great for people with sensitive skin and helps prevent detergent build up.
Note: Some washers may have "Power Rinse" listed on the control panel as part of the "Power Wash" cycle. This is a separate feature.
