Gas Dryer - LP Conversion
We recommend a qualified installer or gas servicer convert a Gas Dryer to the proper gas supply needed. The conversion must be in accordance with the installation instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction.
Converting a Gas Dryer for Use with LP (Liquid Propane) Gas
Gas Dryers are factory-equipped for use with natural gas. Most Gas Dryers can be converted for use with liquid propane (LP) gas, which requires an LP Conversion Kit. The LP Conversion Kit contains all necessary parts and instructions needed to properly convert the Dryer.
- The LP Conversion Kit can be purchased from the GE Appliances Parts & Accessories website or along with the purchase of a Gas Dryer from the retailer. Consult the Dryer's model specific Installation Instructions or the product specifications on our website for information about the LP Conversion Kit you may need to purchase.
- Starting in 2022, there are some electro-mechanical (knobs only) GE and Hotpoint Top Load Matching Gas Dryers that come with the LP Conversion Kit in the control panel. If the Dryer needs to be converted for use with LP Gas, check inside the control panel first.
