Appliance Energy Guide Label

Energy Guide labels are supplied with refrigerators, dishwashers, laundry products, and room air conditioners. The label is often on the appliance itself, and can also be downloaded from the model's product page online.

The Energy Guide will list information such as:

  • The average, least, and most kWh/year (kilowatt-hours per year) based on standard U.S. Government tests.
  • Energy Star information
  • Approximate cost per year to run
  • Energy Star, if Energy Star certified.

Some appliances are not subject to DOE (Department of Energy) requirements for energy usage and therefore do not have energy guide labels.Requires a labelDishwashersFreezersRefrigeratorsRoom Air ConditionersWashers (incorporates cost of heating water)Does not require a label - may not have one availableBeverage CentersDehumidifiersDryersMicrowavesIce MachinesRanges - Gas and ElectricWine ChillersZonelines
