Dryer - Cardboard

On the inside of GE and Hotpoint dryer doors there is a layer of cardboard which serves to insulate heat, moisture and sound inside the dryer drum. It is not a packing material and should not be removed. If this cardboard gets moisture laden or damaged it is not available as a part. The correct repair would be to replace the door by ordering the door as an assembly.
